English Writing Center (EWC)
Ever since the Fall of 2014, I have served as as peer tutor in the University of Puerto Rico - Mayagüez's English Writing Center where I have had the opportunity to help students perfect their oral and written skills in the English language. As per the English Writing Center Facebook Page:
The English Writing Center is a free resource that provides English writing and oral communication support for University of Puerto Rico-Mayagüez students. We are a safe haven for writers and English language learners regardless of their level of proficiency or stage in the writing process. Our fully bilingual and academically-diverse peer tutors conduct one-on-one tutoring conferences, conversational English sessions, and a variety of workshops targeting typical areas of writing difficulty. Our goal is to help writers from any academic discipline and level become better writers.
Contact us:

FENCast
As the Puerto Rican independent art scene lacks documentation, in the FENCast I take it upon myself to document and comment on the scene I experience daily. From time to time, I also provide commentary regarding the arts, media and entertainment. It can be found on Spotify, Apple and YouTube.
Vox Populi
In order to promote my books or just to recite and/or perform poetry, I constantly participate in the community activities held by Vox Populi. As per the Vox Populi: Puerto Rico Facebook Page:
Vox Populi, specifically meaning 'The voice of the people', is exactly that. This group was created with the need of creating spaces or platforms of individual expression. People can participate in our activities by using their medium of preference to showcase their ideals (be them through artistic interpretations or performances such as: poetry, prose, spoken word, art, music, or humor). We foment freedom of speech in providing such spaces. You are welcome to become part of the experience by collaborating, listening, but most importantly, by speaking up and letting your voice be heard. Participants are encouraged to use either Spanish, English, or Spanglish.

Film
I have always been a filmmaker and while I have not been able to work as much as I want in the field lately, I have been serving multiple roles in film productions especially with fellow filmmakers in Producciones Tabaquero. The latest project where I worked in was Ed Andres' "Enganche" where I served as a production assistant.
|
Although I have not been able to do my own short films or documentaries as of lately, I have been able to work in other film projects such as this music video I shot, edited and directed for noise band Dan Siego's "Bloodpuncher".

Journalism
Like the FENCast, much of my work as a journalist for Her Campus - UPRM and blogger has focused on the independent art scene in Puerto Rico.
Photography
Photography has been another art form where I have found myself. Throughout time, I have been trying to develop my skills with the goal of publishing photography books and presenting my work in galleries. Other than working on the field for personal artistic goals I have also done work as a freelance photographer for web magazine Her Campus - UPRM.
